Miramar Rangers AFC is inviting expressions of interest for the role of Women’s First Team Head Coach ahead of the 2026 season and beyond.

This is a key leadership opportunity within a successful, community-focused club that continues to thrive both on and off the pitch. The successful candidate will lead our Women’s First Team in the Capital Football Women’s Central League.

About Us

Founded in 1907, Miramar Rangers AFC is a powerhouse of amateur football in Aotearoa New Zealand. Based on the Miramar Peninsula | Te Motu Kairangi, the club has over 800 members and a proud record of developing talented players across all levels.

We compete at the highest level of club football with teams in both the Men’s and Women’s Central Leagues. Our strength lies not just in results but in our deep community ties and our commitment to football development across all ages and genders.

Women’s Football at Miramar Rangers

The women’s game at Miramar is flourishing with five women’s teams playing across the women’s leagues in 2025. In 2026 our top two senior women’s teams will play in the Women’s Central League and in the Women’s Capital Premier League respectively.

Our women’s teams are supported by a strong junior and youth pipeline, with around 25% of our junior players being girls.  We are proud to offer one of the most comprehensive women’s football pathways in Wellington.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all coaching, tactical planning, and matchday duties for the Women’s First Team
  • Recruit, retain, and develop senior players
  • Design and deliver high-quality training sessions
  • Build a strong, positive team environment with high-performance standards

About You

We’re looking for a passionate, experienced and successful coach. The ideal candidate will have:

  • NZF/OFC C Licence (or higher), or currently working towards one
  • A proven track record in senior coaching
  • A commitment to player development and the growth of the women’s game
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
