TALENT DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

Miramar Rangers AFC is a Capital Football Talent Development Programme (TDP) Accredited club that offers development programmes for U14 - U17s.
NZ Football have created these accredited programmes to help foster development of players from grass roots clubs and create a pathway to top tier or professional football.
Miramar Rangers AFC also offer a Junior Development Programme (JDP) for U10- U13s.
Both the JDP and TDP programmes provide players with an environment to help them learn & improve their technical, tactical and mental skills and reach their full potential while representing their club.

The coaching staff is led by First Team player, Nico Bobadilla, who has been involved with the club and programme over the past three seasons.

Nico has his B License and is working towards his A License. The group of coaching staff, led by Nico, are qualified and passionate about helping young players get the most out of their football at the club, while also maintaining a balance outside of the game.

An important part of a player’s development is to understand the club's values, identify with Miramar Rangers, and represent the club in the best possible way both on and off the field.
The programme is open to players who are passionate about football, prepared to work hard, and eager to develop their skills.​​​​​​​

TRIALS:

The club offers trials for the TDP and JDP teams over a two-week period in November and December of each year. Selected players will receive an invitation to register for the programme by the Club Secretary before the end of December.

Costs of the Junior Development Programme and Talent Development Programme teams:

  • Term training fees – this varies depending on the number of trainings and how many weeks are in a term. 2026 fees are $200-$400 per term.
  • Winter Playing fees – every player for the Club pays a fee, which majority goes to the local federation (Capital Football) and helps with the running of the club. 2026 fees are $195-$200.
  • Programme uniform – All players are required to buy a uniform, which includes socks, shorts, t-shirt, trackpants and rain jacket. By having everyone dressed the same, we look like a professional unit. 2026 costs are $250.
